Lies of P PS5 PS4 PlayStation

Lies of P: Overture is the eagerly anticipated expansion to the best Souls-like ever made; seriously, if you're still holding out for a Bloodborne revival and haven't picked it up, you really should. Game director Choi Ji-won was recently asked about what Overture entails, and it sounds pretty meaty, over twice as big as Bloodborne's own The Old Hunter's DLC, full of everything the developer wished it could have fit in the base game.

Speaking to GamesRadar+ at GDC, Choi revealed that Overture will take veterans of the original somewhere in the realm of 15 to 20 hours to overcome. "Overture is not a complete separate piece from the base game, and there's a lot of interconnectivity between the two," the director explained. "Developing the expansion was almost like an effort to complete the Lies of P experience, and that was challenging."

Considering the original will take most players around 30 to 40 hours to beat, that's adding quite a bit of length to the overall experience: "When we released the base game, we had to prioritize, as we mentioned, to do the best quality, so we couldn't deliver everything at once because we wanted to make sure what we can deliver has the best quality."

Overture will take P back to Krat at the height of its glory, and to the moment of the Puppet Massacre, when the city's autonomous servants turned on their masters in an orgy of bloodshed. The incorporated expansion will come packed full of bosses, new weapons to mix and match, and plenty of thought-provoking lore implications. Considering the absolutely wild note that the original ends on, we can't wait to play through the entire thing again and anticipate the inevitable sequel.
