After a last-minute delay to the console versions, popular free-to-play shooter FragPunk is finally available to play on PS5.
Publisher NetEase has brought its twitchy, unique FPS to PS5 today, with both cross-platform play and cross-progression supported. This means you can play with those on PC, and even continue your progress elsewhere too.
The company has confirmed a few other details; console players will be issued "plenty of gifts" as an apology for the delayed launch. Those who bought the previously available Pioneer Bundle will be eligible for extra goodies.

Because of cross-play, those playing on consoles will have access to an enhanced aim assist to help them stay competitive with mouse and keyboard users.
To recap the game itself, FragPunk's core idea is a series of cards you can activate mid-match that apply all kinds of effects that bend the rules.
There are over 100 of these, and with 10 players in the game's team-based rounds, that means a lot of potential chaos as everyone uses their cards.
On top of the card system, this is a hero shooter, with 12 unique characters with specialised abilities.
Gameplay is fast and twitchy, with a short TTK (time-to-kill) and rounds typically lasting less than three minutes each.
Will you be checking out FragPunk now that it's out on PS5? Let us know in the comments section below.

this game is already dying rapidly on pc. the ui is crap, the graphics are obtrusive & the gameplay is just a valorant wanna be (another game that has way less popularity on console).
i really enjoyed the beta a few months back def gonna jump in
After they teased another live service game for failing, I definitely have no interest in supporting this team.
Since Quake 3 Arena these shooters still feels and looks the same... It is fun for 2 days, but then...
So another character/hero shooter, but with a bit of LoL Arcane on the aesthetics?
I miss Quake arena and Unreal Tournament. There's no decent Scifi mutiplayer shooter imo.
I tried it but like The Finals it was just fine but nothing special.
Free to play? No thanks.

Dev: We gotta get this one out now-
🤒🥺@z0d15g0d ...Quake 3 Arena and Unreal Tournament 2004 & UT III have never been bettered ! Oh the memories...
@Pushsquarian I read that as a bunch of legs farting on a cat, and then getting ill from it.
Is it weird that….I totally understood?

sorry I couldn't find a pink android cat emoji 😅
I gave it a few hours on PC. I think it fumbles its main hook in the card system by making it all too confusing and there’s way too many currencies. The overall gameplay is pretty good but it really needs to tighten the whole experience up if it’s going to remain relevant for more than a year.
Seems like a solid shooter that’s dragged down by too much micro transactions and too much live service *****. Seems like it’ll do better then Concord but doesn’t seem longed for this world.
This actually sounds pretty fresh. But I can't be bothered to play grinders
Fortiche have really started a new movement with their Arcane aesthetics
@GeeEssEff Loads of currencies is such a turn-off these days. Don't make the game look like an accountancy project
