It's well documented that Clair Obscur: Expedition 33 has been a big breakout success, and just one reason that may be the case comes down to its fantastic original soundtrack.

The music, of which there is a staggering eight hours, is really striking a chord with the game's audience, to the point that it's taking over certain music charts.

Over on Billboard, you can see the Expedition 33 OST topping the Classical Albums and Classical Crossover Albums charts. The game's socials also report it's number 13 on the Official Soundtrack Album chart and 31st on the Official Album Download Chart.

With millions of plays across platforms like Spotify and YouTube, the game's music is resonating in a major way — and now, some fans think the OST even hides a secret about cut content or future DLC.

Spoilers for the game's ending follow.

Expedition 33 offers a pivotal choice in the game's final moments, with each answer leading to one of two endings.

Each ending corresponds to a track on the soundtrack, one titled 'Une vie à peindre' (A Life to Paint) and another called 'Une vie à t'aimer' (A Life to Love).

Reddit user Zealousideal-Ad8340 has noticed a third song with a similar title — 'Une vie à rêver', translating to A Life to Dream.

They posit that this could hint at a potential third ending, cut content, or possibly, DLC that expands on the game's story.

Additionally, each of these tracks is exactly 11 minutes in duration, in theory meaning they were all intended to play out over the same sequence (depending on the player's choice). This suggests that there was at one point, or maybe will be in the future, a third ending.

While that might be clutching at straws, it does line up rather nicely, doesn't it?

In other news, DLC is apparently on the cards following the game's incredible reception, so whether this musical clue is related or not, it seems more is on the way.
