FromSoftware has revealed the bonus Elden Ring DLC pack it's preparing to coincide with the Nintendo Switch 2 version will include two new classes. Also coming to PS5 and PS4, there'll be the Knight of Ides and the Heavy Knight.
The small expansion will be called the Tarnished Pack, and also includes additional armour sets and new customisation options for Torrent, as well as more weapons and combat techniques. The DLC shall come to PS5, PS4 on the same day the Switch 2 port releases, which is currently slated for 2025.
Given the fact that this will be a standalone offering on the PS Store that won't simply be included in an update on PS5 and PS4, there'll likely be a small price to pay to get the Tarnished Pack. Will you give these two new classes a go when they drop on PlayStation? Let us know in the comments below.

Nah I'll pass on that DLC FromSoft. Damn what has happened to them as of late?
Hmmm greedy or just another day😂🤔🤑👀
Considering the bar thats been set by Larian studios, it does seem pretty greedy From may be charging for this.
This makes me about as sad as I was when I realized Nightreign doesn't even have a leveling system, it does (technically) you just have no control over it. The whole leveling system is automatic. I hope Fromsoft just get back to making great games and stop experimenting with this extra stuff. If they announced a Dark Souls 4 or Bloodborne 2 or Elden Ring 2 or even a remake of King's Field (or a collection) all would be forgiven. This just feels wrong for such a great developer. They can do so much better than this.
Classes in Elden Ring are also literally irrelevant…
They guys seriously charging for horse armor DLC? 😂
That's weird seeing it from Fromsoft of all devs, hopefully it doesn't continue and is a one time thing.
Call me cynical but I feel like FromSoftware are in the beginning of their sellout arc
@Keyblade-Dan I said this when Elden ring came out due to some of the design choices. Still love it but I saw this coming a mile away, and people thought I was crazy. Happens to us all, at some point we become jaded and just sort of shuffle along with the rest. Still, for a beloved developer to do it seems to sting more.
@Oram77 What do you mean? The cosmetic and armor dlc kind of sucks but they haven't really done anything else bad as of late.
@Nepp67 their next two games are heavily multiplayer focused which is not what we wanted or asked for.
@Keyblade-Dan Hmm , two multiplayer PVPVE games in a row and now this?...you might be on to something
Doesn't a "Class" in Elden Ring basically just mean what starting equipment and stats you start with?
@Oram77 It doesn't matter if it's what you wanted or asked for. It's the game that they wanted to make.
I'm not ready to furrow my brow at From for this yet. If this DLC is more than $5-10, I'll be hesitant. The thing that has me intrigued the most is the new "combat techniques". However, if they add more scythes or katanas, I'd probably bump up the price I'd be willing to pay because I am a sucker for a good scythe.
@Nepp67 Therefore they will lose sales, no skin off my nose for their decisions.
@Oram77 Considering that there are plenty of players that play Dark Souls, Bloodborne, and Elden Ring for its multiplayer aspect alone? They'll be fine.
$5-10 sounds good to me.
@Nepp67 Technically a lot of them do it if they need help with a certain boss. With every Souls release (especially Elden Ring) I hung out with different groups who would use discord and different forums to place down summoning signs when people needed help, it was very organized. Every single time the person would say thanks and go back to playing solo because that's the experience they wanted unless they hit a brick wall. So while it seems like a lot of people used summons, a large number of us only turned it on to help others. That's not something Fromsoft don't realize.
When I talked to anyone who went to the Vegas event they all said the game felt very weird, wasn't for them and that you start by gliding in like Fortnite. I get what you are saying but Fromsoft are wrong about this one. It's not even that Souls fans want to see those games fail, it's just a massive shared feeling of utter confusion and a sense that the devs were forced by the higher-ups to do this. Also many people avoid Souls games because they assume the games will be too frustrating and difficult, that alone narrows down selling potential.
If they want to appeal to non Souls fans they'll have to nerf the kinds of bosses that I know are already in the game. This is a really bad direction for a franchise that absolutely triumphs with what it does best. If any other franchise did this their fanbase would be saying a lot worse, most of us just don't understand why Fromsoft felt the need to do any of this and I've seen no hate towards Fromsoft in the forums. Just a simple 'this isn't for me', fans respect the devs, they respect the company. There are others who play those games online for invasion and duels, a large percentage, they don't want these games either. They'll have to go outside the fanbase to really sell those games and frankly that just sounds like a terrible thing to have to do when so many people say the same thing 'I've bought and played every Souls game, but this one just isn't for me'.
I didn't know that From software had been acquired by Electronic Arts...
I hope they let you replace Torrent with the N64 Epona model for the Switch version.
my only question is when, better than nothing.
Wow you guys are all extremely cynical and depressing
