The detailing in character design (which looked beautiful but also extremely overwrought and game-y) and immediate surroundings looked amazing. Combat, looked … okay? Traversal, less so. We'll see – I'm certainly interested.
Surprised by the few comments here … Lies of P was great and this looked really ambitious for a DLC. Very much looking forward to it … and if it can deliver, it bodes well for the sequel as well.
I've been happy enough with Extra but will probably downgrade and wait for a discount. But yeah, they need people to inside – already a paying customer? Not so interesting to them. Too bad.
Have been waiting for crossplay and playing it for the first time with my wife (who has played it at least three times on PC) and another PS5 friend. She'll pretend to be a NPC while we bumble around. It'll be fun
Just started playing Hi-Fi Rush yesterday (on Portal) – very enjoyable! Wishing Tango all the best. (And here's to hoping the many, many industry layoffs will land on their feet.)
That's definitely me. I would usually play for an hour, no more than two, in the gaming room some evenings. But now I can hang with my wife in the living room, and we can spend the evening together, as often as I care to. I had assumed it would mainly be a chance to play smaller indie games, but the biggest benefit is actually playing time consuming games that I would otherwise feel took too big a bite of my gaming time. So, now I'm enjoying Witcher III and Like a Dragon, and taking my sweet time. Games that look and play completely fine on the Portal. I love it.
Yes. I'll buy it. Whether a straight res upgrade (still at 60 fps) with (excellent) DLC included. Or a more thorough revision at a higher price. I know it feels safe to some (and it is a bit disjointed but that is also true of our beloved Bloodborne), but it's still damn fine video game.
Killing Eve has some great writing (and Jodie Comer would kill the VA as Lara!). And the story/characters wasn't exactly the strongest part of the reboot trilogy (to put it mildly), so I'm up for a shake-up
@LordAinsley Yeah, tendentious reading is doing a lot of heavy lifing here, and we still don't know the full story behind the "original" changes or how it will be resolved.
I do think the developer being preassured to change a costume from their intended vision would be a terrible precedent. Imagine if the reverse had been true: moral crusaders preassuring the game designer into covering up their characters.
@j2c I would, but there's no option to buy. When I log in, I can only download (because I already "own" it). But it will be discounted again, I'm sure.
I never played on PC (used my Mac for work and had consoles for play) and so never really understood what the fuss was all about… until I tried it on the PS5 And sure, I still enjoyed my recent Bloodborne playthrough but I'll take 60 fps anytime, it really does make a difference to me. "Improved" (=even more insane) graphics come a distant second.
I really like the look of this. Enough identity to hopefully be its own thing, similar to what Lies of P pulled off. Probably a rare day one for me, if the last minute previews are favourable.
I suppose the reviews talking about the game being somewhat slow and tedious for the first several hours (before getting /really/ good, to be fair) makes a lot a lot of sense now.
This is offered in such broad terms that I'm not worried, yet. Of course there will be similarities, AC has always recycled certain ideas, while others go away for awhile, and may sometimes make a return. The last extended break allowed for some big changes to be made with Origins, and I still hope to see something similar.
It looks good, I'm interested, but the hero's shiny fantasy plate-mail doesn't do much to convey a Celtic vibe, even amid the standing stones. Still, there may be more to the story.
Hardcore players getting more of a challenge? How can they complain? This will all be down to actual implementation – way too early to judge.
Plenty of games already have invisible balancing, like adjusting amount of health-drops or even a loop that automatically levels up a "bad" player like me, simply because I have to repeat Central Yarnham 20 times before I can make progress.
I would never buy a game with ads … but as we have seen repeatedly with review copies, mtx (or in this case, ads) can just be patched in later. Terrible prospect. But, we never really got to see Ubi's NFT BS, so here's hoping it will never happen.
Played it through and thought it was quite hard, TBH. Not impossible, clearly, so in a sense can sympathise with players saying it's having its teeth pulled. But Neowiz really seems to be invested in making the best possible game for as many gamers as possible, and these tweaks clearly aim to do that. And if they keep putting time into this, maybe we will see some counter-balancing down the road, like voluntary debuffs or harder NGs (similar to Lord of the Fallen).
Landed on a 6. It's what I expected going in, but it still took a dive for the first few hours – it just felt too barren, graphics dated, voice-acting dry, story a rehash. Then I settled into the gameplay loop which is enjoyable, and although the story is bland, the linking of leads kind of worked for me. So yeah, not bad.
It's enjoyable for what it is but very mid (I lean towards a 6). Not exactly a breath of fresh air for the franchise, nor did Ubi promise it would be. So I'm okay with a serving of comfort food/guilty pleasure.
@KundaliniRising333 The levels are well done and look good (goes for the whole game, really). But levels are quite short compared to some of From's games and I do miss that sense of really exploring and pushing forward with ever increasing tension. This is not that.
Yes. And it's good (I am readying for the fight w King's Flame). There are a few thing that I wish were different, but it has its own spin on the genre and adds some nice flourishes.
I am keeping fingers crossed for cross-platform before I jump in. I would love to play this with some old TTRPG friends (including my wife). Otherwise, I am honestly not a big enough fan of either D&D or CRPGs.

Re: Saros Is the Next PS5 Exclusive Game from Returnal Dev Housemarque, Coming 2026
Loved Returnal but was stuck in the loop, unable to progress all the way through. I'm hoping for something similar, but very happy about that "-lite".

Re: PS Plus Loses These 8 PS5, PS4 Games Next Month
Oh, I had just downloaded Outer Worlds, to play on Portal, but don't actually need to begin a new game. Worth a priority bump?

Rollerdrome could be fun. Finished Steelrising, and while not fantastic, it was a decent enough soulslike.
